To this day, we have adhered to five principal values:
- Solid quality
- Solid price
- Solid craftsmanship
- Solid wood
- Solid guarantee
Indeed, our furniture can last generations with proper maintenance. It’s renowned internationally for its sophistication, workmanship, and lasting value. As the trusted producer of solid wood furniture in Toronto — we use four different types of wood for your furniture, including, Cherry, Maple, Oak, and Pine, chosen from Canadian trees and proudly crafted right here, in this beautiful country.
Of course, the wood we use helps us achieve different looks and styles. So, let’s take a closer look:
- Cherry: As you probably suspected, Cherry wood comes from the cherry fruit tree. Cherry wood is one of the top-selling hardwoods on the market because of its endurance and versatility. You can find Cherry wood in dark brown, white, blonde, and often with a dramatic red undertone. Cherry wood is easy to work with because it accepts multiple finishes. It’s also great for curved designed furniture because it steams readily.
- Maple: If you want solid wood furniture that will last lifetimes, you choose Maple. This heavy, durable mid-priced hardwood is naturally non-toxic and can be used for flooring, cabinetry, and kitchen accessories. However, we enjoy using Maple to develop durable heirloom furniture.
- Oak: Like Maple, Oak is a type of hardwood that’s resistant to daily wear and tear and can last a long time. Oak takes longer to grow, resulting in greater density and strength. It offers a wide variety of colours, ranging from light grey-brown to reddish-brown. Like Pine, it is also ring-porous, so it’s known for its distinctive swirling or striped pattern. It looks best when a clear or light finish works with the grain to highlight its unique markings.
- Pine: Although Pine may not be as strong as Oak, it’s an exceptionally durable material for a softwood. It features dark knots that contrast dramatically against its pale yellow or light brown colouring, making it excellent for timeless, rustic, country-style furniture.
Regardless of the type of wood you choose, you will get many styling options at Woodcraft. For example, if you’re interested in wood dining tables — you’ll notice that we have a lot of variety, whether you need a table to eat with your family every night or host large dinner parties.
Likewise, if you need a natural wood coffee table — you’ll find many styles, whether it’s for an intimate evening around a fireplace with a glass of red wine or an exciting board game night with family or friends.
Whether you want furniture made of Cherry, Maple, Oak, or Pine, you’ll find items crafted with exceptional quality when you come to Woodcraft.
